For the past 35 years, Pierre's Chocolates has been dedicated to crafting the most exceptional chocolates in Bucks County. We are a family owned and operated full service retail chocolate store in New Hope, PA. All of our chocolate is handmade on the premises by our two chocolatiers, Tom & Justin. Multiple time winner of Bucks County's Best Chocolatier, Pierre's Chocolates features old world recipes created by Swiss chocolatier and original owner Jean Pierre Meyenberg with a modern touch.

 

Jean Pierre Meyenberg was born and raised in the small town of Zug, Switzerland. He began learning the art of chocolate making from his father. He then apprenticed with a famous Konditorei in the northern town of Schaffhausen. Pierre brought his delicious artistry to the United States using only the finest ingredients and time-honored recipes and started Pierre's Chocolates with wife Jinny in 1970. The current location at 360 West Bridge Street in historic New Hope, PA opened in 1986.

 

In 2011, Tom (founder of Country Fair Chocolates, Thomas Sweet, & Naked Chocolate Cafe) along with son-in-law Justin (graduate of Natural Gourmet Institute in NYC) purchased the business from Pierre and his family. During this transition, Tom & Justin spent a year and a half learning all of Pierre's original recipes and techniques. They continue the tradition of Pierre's Chocolates as well as adding their own specialties to the mix. Tom & Justin debuted a new collection of artisan small batch chocolates, meltaways, bars, and hot chocolate mix. These beautiful chocolates feature single origin cacao from small family farms around the world. We are among just a handful of chocolatiers in the United States sourcing rare South American varietals. Justin was one of six chocolatiers and pastry chefs selected to travel to Ecuador and witness the cacao harvest first hand. We only use the highest quality ingredients and most of our small batch collection is in collaboration with other Bucks County purveyors.
